52THE FORGOTTEN PRINCIPLE
This piece is dedicated to all parents ,social workers and the entire parent or guardian hood. It`s true and widely said that charity begins at home and for sure home is where the heart is .Every visible thing is a symbol of something existing .Does a home symbolize anything to you?
Day in day out we hear or read about role models. Artists, leaders and different celebrities have different qualities which may have pushed them in choosing their role models .It’s obvious that every parent would pride over a child who holds Barrack Obama as their role model .Or also talk of successful and influential beings known all over the world .In fact through these choices we find that most youths are sort of materialistic and know nothing about real life .No considerations should be given to aspect like fame or wealth but qualities. Above all humanity it’s qualities observed in an individual that makes them unique from another .The acceptance and knowledge of real life and all it’s ethics clears the way for sedate families and a focused generation.
My brother once accused me of being pompous just because of listening to the qualities of my role model. This as an issue deserves a lot if not an extra hand to make it sink in everyone’s mind .Most individuals tend to blindly do all things their icons do hence end up clogging their brains with unsuccessful ideas .All this happens because of misinterpretation of the term icon. That’s why I note this down though it may seem late –they say its better late than never .Maybe the hosts of famous talk shows should emphasize on this and all parents include it in their pieces of advices. We youths read about it ,watch and also hear it from different sources but our subconscious let’s us down when it comes to interpreting The handwriting on the wall has very faint lines and requires fast learners to get it’s correct deeper meaning .This is one reason that triggers me to plead with our guardians .It’s a helping hand that we youths need before all goes from bad to worse .
Talk of issues like drug abuse, skimpy dressings don’t –care –attitudes and all maladjustment experienced .No one’s there to blame –because it’s all caused by blind interpretation .Recently parents are too busy to involve themselves in their kids growth. The only thing they caution us against is other immoralities like premature sex .Have they ever had a thought about dress code and present environment that would’ve chipped in to our problems? How does a fifteen year old choose an icon .What arrives first at their minds is, how famous or wealthier one is before they pronounce you as their icon {sorry teenies}
Guardians and all born-leaders it’s your turn .Be the change you wish to see in the world –this is a line that guides me handsomely. Tell us candidly that it is qualities and not fame and wealth only.
